Puppy Love

As I look back on this week, I'm particularly grateful for my little pup. I swear dogs can tell when their humans are sick or stressed or in need somehow, and I think mine can sense I'm pregnant. She's been extra cuddly lately and curls up by my stomach at night. Even though she's only eight pounds, she's protecting me pretty nicely.

Happy weekend!

Hot Dog

I'm a major dog lover. I think about my little pup all through the day and I look forward to coming home to her whenever I'm away. But my penchant for pooches isn't the only reason I'm loving these dog silhouette prints by HirondelleRustique. The happy colors and chevron prints are pretty great too. Enjoy!

Looking Good

My little bean got a haircut recently, and I can't stop admiring how nice she looks. But I guess that's nothing new. In the four years we've had her, I don't think a day has passed that I haven't asked my husband whether he's noticed how cute she is -- even when she's staring us down, like in this photo. My goodness, I love her!

Puppy Love

Dogs are so stinking cute I can't even handle it. So I was delighted to find manyfires' animalscapes of dogs on Flickr. (P.S. She also does great portraits of cats, horses, pigs and more.) Her photos completely warm my heart. I want to take all these lovies home with me:

Yippee!

We had our first big snow of the winter yesterday. I woke up today to a world blanketed in a beautiful layer of white.

Snow is great early in the season. We haven't gotten sick of scraping our cars and shoveling our sidewalks. It's pure fun -- much like this absolutely adorable dog romping in the fluffy stuff!

Thankful Thursday

Today I am thankful for love in its many and varied forms.

My sister is a great example of this. She's a huge animal lover and shares her home with her husband as well as two huge golden retrievers. She rescued one from a shelter, an energetic boy with the biggest heart. And a new addition to the household is a kitten my sister found stranded in the middle of a road.

Perhaps the best part of my sister's two newest animal companions is that they've become the best of friends. This huge dog and tiny cat are inseparable. They even share a food dish! And this photo of them cuddling just warms my heart.

Can't we all use a dose of love on a chilly winter day?

I Can't Help It

I'm heading out of town this weekend, so I went on weather.com to check the forecast. But I completely got sidetracked by the Dog Days of Summer slideshow.

I have such a soft spot in my heart for dogs. And it makes me so happy to see that these pups are having a fun summer. Aren't they adorable?

But I can't help but wonder, are these dogs having more fun than me this summer? Maybe they can be my summer-fun inspiration.

Thankful Thursday

My heart is fuzzy, white and weighs eight pounds.

That's because my dog is one of the major loves of my life. Seriously, I cannot get enough of her.

I'm so thankful that she's been part of our family for three years now. She's opened my heart in ways I never knew had been closed.

She can be a bit of a stinker (we're still working on her barking and listening skills, but who's perfect, right?) but truth be told I dig her spunk and personality.
