Happy March!

When March rolls around, I can't help but think about St. Patrick's Day, Ireland and the freshest shades of green. I also start dreaming about spring and travel and ways to refresh. Here's hoping for a great month filled with good fortune and blessings.

Cool

I am enamored of New York artist Suzanne Caporael's striking prints. Whether she's exploring geometric forms or depicting a landscape, her work pulls me in. I especially like the ones that employ cool shades of blue and green. Have a look at a few pieces:

Seeing Green

I find the green accents in this Toronto home so refreshing. They're especially appealing with a palette of black, white and neutral tones. Love, love, love!

Green Scenes

Isn't green a wonderfully refreshing color? It makes me feel simultaneously relaxed and energized.

It can be hard to decorate with, though, hard to get just right. But these rooms -- all found on the excellent Canadian House & Home website -- have done it.

Take a look:

Dreaming in Blue and Green

Two summers ago my husband and I were able to take a little getaway to Lake Placid. It was such a beautiful, peaceful, charming place and we had a wonderful time relaxing and exploring. And the ferry ride over from Vermont was beautiful as well.

My mind keeps wandering there today, to the blues of the ocean, lake and sky and the greens of the grass and trees.

Come, take a little breather with me.
