Ahhh ...

What a gorgeous fall weekend we just had. The sun was out but there was a crispness to the air, even a chilly bite at times, which was the perfect excuse to have our first fire of the season. On Saturday morning we lazed in the living room, with the fire creating such a cozy ambience. I loved it!

This perfect part of autumn reminded me of this camping engagement photo session I saw online a while back. I'm definitely not a camper but all those trees, that plaid blanket, jeans and flannel shirts and sweaters, the way the couple looks absolutely smitten ... it's just so perfect!

Natural Nuances

Today's been a dark, rainy day. The kind of day that makes you want to go home, wrap youself in cozy blankets and get lost in favorite books.

I wonder if they're also the kind of days that inspire Frances Seward's photography. The artist's images are stunning, perfectly capturing the colors, textures and moods of nature. I could stare at them all day.

Best of Both Worlds

One of the few downsides to clean-lined, contemporary design is that the style can sometimes feel cold and sterile. That's why this Manhattan penthouse, featured in the New York Times, is so perfect. It has the crisp, unfussy lines I love but also the natural materials and leafy greens that I crave in a space.

Here, take a look. And tell me that isn't the coolest mirror you've ever seen!

What a Colorful World

I am absolutely dazzled by the fall color this year. Whether I'm driving in my car or lying on the living room floor, seeing the trees showing off vibrant yellows, reds and oranges is such a delight.

Isn't this photo of fall color amazing? Can you imagine seeing this scene in person? I just feel grateful that this photographer captured it, and so beautifully.

Happy fall!

It's Only Natural

There's limitless beauty in the world. But it's pretty hard -- if not impossible -- to find something more beautiful than nature.

Perhaps that's why I keep returning to these two utterly gorgeous photos taken by Irene, a Montreal photographer and creator of the pretty, quirky, thoughtful and inspiring blog Eye Poetry. I find these photos breathtaking. Simplicity at its best.
