One of my favorite trends for spring is florals, and I pretty much want to buy every flowered item Anthropologie is selling! Wouldn't a vibrant chair or plate perk up a room? And aren't the clothes so pretty and fun?

Pillow Talk
Sometimes you stumble across something pretty awesome, and these pillows by Alexandra Ferguson are my dose of that for the day. The advice stitched across some pillows are quite practical (No Whining and Clean Your Room), but my favorites are the ones that are just plain fun. I mean, who wouldn't benefit from a pillow offering the suggestion Let's Make Out?

Cabin Fever
Whether it's chosing a place to live or a place to travel, I'm typically a city girl. I love the energy found in a metropolis, and the fact that there's always something to do, see or experience that makes you feel so alive.
That said, Toast's new house&home catalogue has me wanting to find a little cabin out in the country and shack up for a long weekend. We'd hike in the fresh air, spend an evening by a log fire and fall into a bed of flannel sheets.
Okay, so a weekend like this probably isn't in my near future, but these catalogue photos are good daydream starters.

Chic Indeed
Don't you love it when someone busts open a stereotype? When a person makes it just a little less easy to mentally put everything tidily away in boxes?

Maybe that's why Metropolitan Home's Dixie Chic story appealed to me so much. You'd expect Dixie Chicks musician Emily Robison's San Antonio home to be quite country, for a lack of a better word, right? Or at least you wouldn't anticipate finding an urban loft outfitted with industrial materials, clean-lined furniture and touches of texture and color. Well, I didn't anyway -- and I am delighted to be wrong.
Here, take a look at some of the amazing rooms:

So Baroque
So maybe it's because Halloween is creeping up. Or perhaps I appreciate a bold departure from my simple, clean-lined style preferences now and again.
But whatever the reason, I am oddly and significantly captivated by this Baroque sofa at Jayson Home & Garden. It's an antique, from nineteenth-century France and I am enchanted with all its detail -- and the fact that it's all in black.
Pretty amazing, no?
