I can't tell if it's the relatively mild winter we've had this year or the fact that I'm so ready for spring to come, but the landscape around me feels so different lately. The elements -- land, trees, sky -- seem so plain to see, not covered but out there, ready to be observed. It reminds me of these prints by the late painter Nicolas De Stael. I find his landscapes straightforward yet intriguing.
